Soooo I've had my tb in the driveway for about 4 months wo moving it...before that it sat at my mother In laws house on or around about 10-12 months while I was deployed to Iraq... After I came back I put the key in and it started right up.... No wonder ,they're amazing and highly underrated...well after a few weeks of reintegration I the civilian life I went to el grand rodeo and on the way back I wasn't gaining any speed up xburg mtn....I said "whiskey tango foxtrot?" I turned down the rediculous my loud metal music only to hear over revving like I've never heard before... Sure as all get out, my tranny overheated and was blown out... Since then it has been replaced by burglund... And it's sat in the driveway, I am hear to figure out how to bring this sad thing back to life.... I actually work with James downing, but have never actually met him sooooo what's up man...

Welcome, I had an old Caprice back in the day that say for a couple years before I got it and the trans burnt up on it shortly after. So what else is wrong with your truck that you need to bring it back to life? I would change the transfer case, axles and engine oil just to make sure.

We'll the dealership swapped the tranny out for me, it was still under warranty... As far as general maintenance goes I've never had any issues since I was 13... But suspension components and gears and differentials is all written in that crazy code from the matrix movies to me... As a start I bought some 255 75 r17 bfg mt's today, and a bds lift.. That's as far as I got... I was stationed in fort drum ny, and everything underneath took a beating from long winters up there... I am gonna get all new everything and put the lft in...

you're going to need to sit down and at the very minimum read all the stickies... minimum.

Then you're going to need to do a search and dig around a lil more to answer the questions you have from the stickies.

After that, if you still have questions, we are more than willing to help. But we expect our members to do a fair amount of research. It'll take you some time and you'll learn a lot along the way.

We're definitely glad to have you and appreciate your service!

Welcome.

Meet up with James when you get the chance, he is the one that most of us model after when we get started... you will notice some have gone WAY above and beyond what he has done. But his setup is still far more than most people would actually ever need
