I've been reading the forums for a while now I found you through trailvoy.com. Its great to have another area like this that is a bit more focused on our own niche.

I have a 2003 Trailblazer LTZ 4x4 which is my daily driver. I hope to be joining you in the dirt with the lift meister kit in a few months.

Still doing a bunch of research and reading trying to see what size tire I can fit on stock 17" rims with out any modification (short wheel spacers if needed and grinding down the ball joint a bit wouldn't mind doing that if I needed to).

I am also looking to see what trails / areas are around in the NC area I just moved here about a month ago, I also want to hit up some of NC's beaches later this year.

Thanks for all the great info I'll be sure to pass along my experiences as I get things going. Hopefully someone else can learn from all the mistakes I am sure I'll make ;)

It wont take much convincing ;) lol

Just have to get settled down here and get some money in the bank.

I figure its going to take me at least as long to do that as it will to figure out what I need anyway.

Isn't the tire size SWAG game fun? lol  *sigh*

Brandon, where about are you at in NC? Update your location in your profile.
I know NC_IslandRunner is in Sanford and I am in the SE part of the state. There are a couple other folks around as well.

look for a couple threads from NC_IslandRunner, Rory has been to those islands a few times and has some good tips.

Just picked up the new tires today :) They are larger looking than I expected /cheer

Got a call from my apt office that they have a package for me so I think Markmc's kit is already here... I am not sure how he managed that since I think he said he was going to ship it out just yesterday but I have no idea what else it could be lol. With any luck i'll be driving down to Charleston SC next weekend to put it on with a buddy of mine. I really hope I don't run into issues if I do I'm not to sure how i'll get back to work Monday morning :P

The adventure begins :)

Turns out that package was just the wheel spacers ( I thought the box looked rather small for them and the lift :P )

I guess the lift is shipping separately for some reason, hopefully before Wednesday so I can start the install.

I know Mark has a vendor for the spacers, they might have shipped directly from the vendor separately.

I put on my rough country lift(used) alone in a couple of hours.
the main thing is you need a spring compressor and a wide tie rod fork.
a short 2lb sledge helps speed things up as well.
removing the end links makes it easier to get the front on and off.
you need an allen wrench for the stud and regular wrench for the nut.

When I was doing mine I didn't notice the allen in the stud and tried with an impact and couldn't get it off.
I just unbolted the front sway bar instead almost all the way and that worked enough.
Unbolting the end links would make it a little easier.
