The 6.0L LS2 is more attractive since I can see myself moving parts from one LS3 block to the LS2 block which are almost identical castings.
lolol, you have to get it out of the way first??? Come on Mike, even I know better than to phrase it that way! I would think of it that way... but not say it! lol
It's an awesome ride. I love the 14 bolt rear and the LS2 that would be expensive upgrades. There really aren't many other differences. A large percentage of LT's are better loaded than my SS. I didn't want it too loaded. I sure wish I had figured out steering wheel radio controls though.
Yeah, I'm pretty happy with our LTZ, and that's why I've kicked the 5.3L swap idea too around. I know some folks think it's cheaper to find a SWB 5.3L but I haven't seen one crop up in awhile, but I have seen now 3 EXT v8's for sale over the past couple of months and 1 of them was listed for 3K which would mean my hit on swap over and sell off wouldn't be too harsh. I mostly am looking for torque for towing an airstream while maintaing the current lift and being able to do the speed limit up a hill in colorado. Well... that's my idea anyways. But the 5.3L comes in at 305hp at the crank. They are modable (is mod-able even a word, lol) however. I don't need a serious amount to the wheels just as long as the torque curve is good. Just kind of think the SS would be a beefier base to start with.
I've done weekend engine swaps before, so it's not a lack of ability. Just a lack of to many ongoing projects at the moment. Still, I can discuss possibilities all day.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.
