Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Cooling System

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Driving home tonight i noticed thatwhile driving my temp gauge is bouncing around. It will go over 210 and then under 210 for abit. I replaced the thermostat and did a coolant flush back in july, and nothing is blocki.g or in the radiator. Maybe i'm just worrying to much but does anyone think it could be a problem.

Check your fluid level? Air bubble possibly?
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

Look at the data stream with a scan tool if you can to see if the sender is sending the bad data, or if the gauge is lying more than its usual algorithm forces it to. Rare for the temp gauge stepper motor to fail before the speedo or the tach because those two see more rotational action than the temp gauge. The gauge should normally be welded at 210, straight up.

just to add to this , if I remember correctly my gauge shows 210 even though my scangauge reads anywhere from 195-215.

I never got a chance to hook my scan tool up to it but it stopped doing it. The night I drove home it was going it, and hasn't done it since.
