Hey everybody. I've been doing some reading here for about a month, finally made a post. about a month ago i purchased a 2005 trailblazer LS 4WD with the I6. i looked up some off-roading videos on youtube and came across this place. There's a ton of info here! Got the info i needed to start my off-road mods early next year. After all, i live in the Antelope Valley and off road/shooting playgrounds abound here! Last time i went shooting i took the DD (Camry) and a sedan in the desert is dangeous!!! LOL The TB was in my opinion a good find. Bought it from a wealthy dude in pasadena that took very good care of it. 106K miles , no crazy dents ..mechanically its pretty much perfect. Im working hella OT recently so I can go ahead and do the Lift, tires at the same time. This is my first vehicle that is not a car and so this is the first time i will be going to a lift instead of lowering. hope it goes well!

Welcome! Looks like you have a good starting point. Take a good look at the build threads and decide where you want to end up!

You're the one with the sweet Envoy right? Yeah I saw most of the vids, glad I went for a TB instead of the planned grand cherokee. They're so abundant in this area and want to take something different out to the local BLM spots . Hopefully in the near future I can join the local SoCal members on a trip

:thumleft: Welcome to the forums. This is my second vehicle that's "not a car" but the first one I lifted. My 92 Bravada got me into the offroad thing.

You've come to the right place to find ideas and get advice. Just be sure to do your research first and we won't hassle ya to much. ;)

So what are your plans beside lift, you know how much or how high yet?

:flex dirty:
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

Glad you found us. You need to be sure to motivate the Roadie and get him back out into the desert that he loves.

Yea, he's been overworking himself to distract him from the pain of me moving away!!

You are in an excellent place for wheeling so use it to your advantage... Myself and the Keys are not so fortunate to have such conditions for offroading.

We have this emergency phone tree in the SoCal area. People go out on their own, get stuck. Then they call me for an extraction. People who have gone out in a group first for training and experience (I've led maybe a dozen, by now, I think, over the years) statistically have a safer experience. For some odd reason, people who have called me for a rescue never repeat. :shoot:

Going out solo beyond cell range, without a ham radio or sat rescue beacon, is just a very, very risky thing.

Aside from the lift and tires I'll probably install some extra lighting. Probably the roof mounted ones. Like how sharp some of those look. My use will be for going out to desert shooting spots that are only accessible off-road. Camping with the family , hunting ..the occasional mild trail out here. Reason being this truck will be used by my wife regularly during the week to take my daughters to school. So it will still need to have a certain comfort level. :flex dirty:

Thinking BDS kit ..tires 265/75/16 with the spacers of course
