Z71s and a spacer or Skyjacker c25r springs. Some people have had issues with some of the recent Z71 springs collapsing on the smaller coils. No one has had a bad thing to say about the Skyjackers.

Edit: And if I read things right, this will give me a 2in lift with no spacer, correct? Actually, I'll see a significant additional lift over my original 83's with 186k on them.

C25's will net around 4" of rear lift.

Not lazy, just not sure how to interpret reams of information which I'm just now starting to digest.

All you old timers learned that works and what doesn't over time. Not all at once.

I'm no a gear head. I'd prefer to ask than make costly and potentially dangerous mistakes.

For the record, I've been envolved in these trucks for a year and a half to two years. Despite having some automotive experience previously, I was a complete newb to offroad exploration and offroad trucks/fab.
I gained my experience through a tremendous amount of reading, a few dumb questions and a good bit of experimentation. I posted all I've done to help the new guys. I'm still a newb compared to the guys I've learned from. They walked a road a ton harder than I have. I've only taken their experience and tried to push it to see what would happen... sometimes with disasterous results lol

Many people have come here in your position and have gotten a shit ton more grief than you have. Cable810 can tell you first hand. But with some nudging and reading most everybody has found their way and are even trying totally new combos while adding to the tech.

Even with your springs and longer shocks you'll still need to read up on brake lines, ebrake cables and the like. All the info is here waiting for you to read it!

this is why the guys are giving you grief. Most of us don't really mind answering the same questions every other day. The problem is if we keep doing that that then when folks come on and search, there is no value in it because there are so many threads.

For me, one of the hardest things I had trouble with when I was newer was what are the proper search terms. You end up just having to dig. Even now I still have a hard time finding info, but it is on the forum when I do find it. Just takes a couple tries.
