I think if you did a lot of searching they are more of a recovery tool than a true jack to like change a flat.
Unless you have rock sliders and a steel bumper to hook to you won't be able to jack up to change a tire.
If you are just too tall to use your scissors jack, carry a block of wood to put under the jack with you to make up the difference in height.
If you get the adapters and need to use it as a winch, or get the lift mates and need to lift a tire out of a rut and back fill the hole, I understand they work well as an all around recovery tool.
