Option 2 would be the coolest... But option 3 is what I would personally do (and did). I realized early, I'm 18, that I don't like wheeling my daily driver.Being able to trailer my rig back home always gives me piece of mind. Something with plenty of cheap available parts as a wheeler is also a plus, something the tb doesn't have... yet

Cool vid, you can never capture the true wickedness of a hill on camera it always looks like it's not that bad. I was trying to get a good photo at the Flats in Asheville last June but they all looked better in person, could never quite get the depth I needed in the pics.

Your front end got some good air there!

If you had 4WD, you'd have made that second hill.

The great debate I have. Sas or mother wheeler. I am leaning toward s10 based truggy.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

True story. It was impossible to even stop on that hill. You'd just slide back down. For reference, The Bronco and I were the two smallest tires @ 35s. The Runner/K5 are on 37-38s, the truggy is on 39.5s, that crew cab is on 44s.

The part on the second hillclimb where my RPMs shoot up suddenly is where the intermediate shaft let go.

That guy's coming this weekend to look at the Camaro and probably take it home. He's pretty excited about the deal... and so am I.

it sounds like a beast from the frame down, how well does the 4Cyl handle the 37's?

The truggy and Runner in the vid have the same motor. The double transfer cases and gears make all the difference.

Whats your Camaro worth, if you don't mind me asking?

The biggest ticket Item in that yota is the double marlin, and fresh motor. It has the best SAS kit in my opinion, Trail-Gear is great to work with (I can get everything you need from them, at the best price you'll find ;) )

Your still going to need to follow up with a locker up front, and a set of Moly axles. But seems like a bitchin start. Lots of those rigs down here, make sure you don't sell your self short if you have a bunch into the Camaro.

Nice! That'll get the job done.

I think soon I may have to follow your footsteps as well... So far my TB has served me well, but shortly I'll be wanting another vehicle as a wheeler that is more capable and easier to upgrade. Want to get much more extreme and there is just so much around me that the TB will not be able to handle and leaves me sitting at home while the club is out having fun.

LT1 Camaros have kinda turned into the new fox body Mustang around here... they are a dime a dozen. Mine is clean, under 100K miles and I have thousands into mods in it but as everyone knows you never "invest" in mods. Plus the car needs paint and will need tires soon. If this doesn't go through I'm asking 4500 for it. It seems on par for what a solid Yota wheeler is going for on CL.

This particular truck seems like it has all of the "hard" stuff completed. I can lock the front end, put Longfields in it and be done.

Sounds like you'll make out real good :thumleft: . Make sure to deaply check all the welds and such, as I'm sure you will. I've seen allot of these kits hacked on.

Man, I'm kinda jelious, I haven't been out since I got rid of my GMCamurai... The thought of Double box, with nice low gears, high clearance.. :drool3: :drool3:

Looks like a hell of a deal. I have also been considering getting a dedicated wheeler. The tb is two payments away from a clear title, I've been looking that the option of getting a 2wd silvy for a dd and a solid jeep to wheel. I haven't been off road in a few months and I really can't risk breaking shit with as much as I commute these days.

The guy came by tonight and we looked at each other's rigs. He likes the car and I like the truck. Lift kit was done properly. The body is...well... it's a wheeler and the adapter plate between the xfer cases leaks a little, but I think it'll work. We'll do paperwork this weekend.

Thanks! I'll try and keep things TB related here.

My hope is that I can help find some retrofit ideas from the Yota parts bin to help us.

Let's see a picture of this thing (I was blocked from the CL listing here at work)...

We'll try to embrace it as one of our own.

Crappy CL pic. It was dark last night so I was under it with a flashlight and not a camera.
