Possible Treadwright group buy?

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

by Me007gold » Thu May 19, 2011 11:28 am

I saw on Treadwright's facebook "Do you think you have a enough interest in TreadWright with your 4x4 forum or club to generate a group buy? If so, you may be able save even more over our already low prices. Email joel@treadwright.com if you think your group would have an interest in this. Hurry as this will be a limited time offer!"

was wondering if we could try to set up one here? If this is not allowed please feel free to lock/delete this thread.

I don't see any harm in getting something going. Anyone in the market for new tires might actually like this. Invite them to join the site and post the details.

No problem at all. The rules are a LOT different here than the faceless-corporate-owned OS. :excited:

I'd be interested. Been trying to get a set of tires from them for a while, only other things in life keep sapping my funds.

You should definitely shoot them an email to see what the requirements are. Seems like a great idea, especially for members looking for a good buy on tires. Gotta keep in mind that they are an investment. We saw how well the body lift group buy panned out. If these guys need 10 or more of us to run a GB, there could be issues meeting that requirement.

While this sounds like a great opportunity, I am atleast a year out on needing new tires. Wonder if we could do this on an annual basis to keep a group buy in place.

I was just thinking that 5 tires at maybe $115 is only about $28 savings. It wouldn't really be worth it to buy tires a month or so early to save $28. I wonder can you work an angle where offroadTB or trailvoy memebers get a %5 discount. I think there are already several members that run their tires. I had seriously thought about it when I got my new ones but since I was switching to a new size I wanted to get them from the place that mounted them. I think my next tires will be 265/75/16 and I'll seriously consider getting them from treadwright but at my current rate of miles I put on each year it might be 4 years from now.

Agreed. 5% isn't enough for me to fall all over myself trying to buy tires right now.

I agree. A group buy should really knock a bit more off to make it worth it. I wouldn't knock down the doors for so little savings, and in my area it is very easy to find "preowned" tires with deep discounts. Looking at a set of km1 tomorrow w/90% tread for something like $400.

thats cool but that doesnt matter if you have people that still need tires, i know i need a set so if anyone else is close to needing a set or wants to pick up a pair copy and paste the list so Me007gold can contact the guy and we can get some tires by the summer.
