Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

A few of us have been running those. They are a darn good bang for the buck and the only KM1 tire you can buy anymore. They come in right at 32" too.

Interesting. All the jk guys say they are about 31 to 31.3. Still you cnt deny they are a great value.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

I guess it all depends on how they are measuring it. I measured the circumference at the centerline and divided by pi. If they are measuring the tire's height when it's mounted to the jeep and sitting on the ground, it will appear to be less.

Exactly... If you measure from the ground to the top of the tire, with the vehicle weight on it, it'll always be shorter than actual, due to sidewall flex. It will also change with how much weight is on it, and how much air is in it... The circumference divided by pi is probably more accurate way to measure it, because it takes out vehicle weight and air pressure from the situation.

absolutely not!!! I was happy, but only for a very short period of time. At this point those beads are the only thing I can blame the cupping on, and under rotating.

I highly recommend that anyone who hasnt tried the road force balance machines go out and do so. It is an un believable difference in quality of balance compared to traditional machines.

Yea i'll agree to that... Sears couldn't get my tires balanced and when I asked if they had one of those balacers they had no idea what it was. Went to a shop that had one and vibrations gone.

Are those machines at a national chain store? I got my tires today and havent had them mounted on the rims yet. I called 4-5 tire shops and nobody knew what I was talking about.

Yea, the Town Fair Tire I went to had one. There is a way to search for locations that have them thru a website, I'll try to find it, but you just put in your zip and it'll bring up all the ones close by.

One of the things I really like about the Pro-Comps is the siping. These tires are awesome in the rain and snow. I know its how you drive but I'm curious to know how the BFG KM2 and the KM1 handle. I know a lot of people run BFG tires so they must be pretty good.

I guess I drive on sharper rocks than you do. I'd be embarrassed if my lugs weren't at least rounded at the edges. At 5K miles the red "Grabber" appliques are tearing off. (I put them lettering side out because I will remount them lettering side in when the life's half over.

For those of us that are not retired and are still working I dont go offroad as much as you Roadie and I Live in NJ and the terrain here is not rocky. So I guess I can see why you would be embarrased ,but me, not so much.

Well if he isnt retired than he has a lot of time of extra time. I just bought my house two years ago and I have so much to do factor that in with work and overtime. Roadie if he isnt retired he is close to it which means he is a lot futher ahead than myself. Anyway hats off to you for having that time! :salut:

Will they balance our tire/wheel/spacer trucks, even though they won't mount the wheels/tires? Mine were balanced off the truck, and there is an annoying vibration at about 70. In my otherwise dreamy ride... :hissyfit:

They are all balanced off the truck, the roadforce machine just has an assembly that comes up on the tire. It could be a installation issue with your vibration with the spacers or rims. I work a tire dealership and had a vibration until the third time the tires were taken off and put back on with proper torquing and not rebalancing.
