Cool Rigs/Inspiration/Ideas You've Spotted

In an effort to get some more off-road related discussion and ideas flowing... this thread is to post any cool off-road vehicles that you've come across or have used as inspiration for your own build.

Personally... I've followed the Safari Pacific MX2 build for a while now:




I ran across this land cruiser online today. It looks like such a clean build. I love the sleek lines of the bumper and the LED light bar. Sweet.

I also really liked this H3 from SEMA... solid axle swapped, but subtle and well done I think. Not over the top.

Also been following this guy's build. Very cool 4runner (I almost bought one instead of a TB)... this is one of the first rear bumpers that I really liked when I was designing mine.



Anyways,... feel free to comment or post up some of your own inspiration or goals.

Great idea for a thread. I think this xterra is ridiculous, of course since these shots he's gone even further over the top with it--SAS.




And I'll second the 4runner love, I'm heavily debating now whether I wanna keep sinking $$$ on the TB or go find a 4runner to start building on. Expedition portal is the devil!!

Agreed, I'm not digging it after the SAS, but the suspension work on the IFS in his build thread is pretty impressive. That guy has thrown a lot of coin at that xterra.

I really like everything Nissan has in 4x4 trim... Frontiers, Titans & Xterras. I looked hard at both a Frontier and an Xterra when I found the TB.

I may still buy one someday.

Id drop my TB in a heartbeat if I found a newish xterra with a supercharger and 4x4. I just love those trucks and the support they have is amazing.

Xterra guy stopped at last chicago Trailvoy meet and was pretty impressed. I know he was headed back to badlands and had not done some trails I have. Got no use for less power and my buddy sold a decked out XJ for an Xterra. We both determined it was junk pretty quick. He dumped it for a 1/2 ton Chevy.

This is from an Indian auto company, Mahindra. I like most of it... not the wheels or the color.





Might be seeing something similar on the US shores from Mahindra next year.

Those are cool. I think their little diesel motors got US approval recently. At least I think thats what I read last week. Off-Road had a lil discussion on them I think. May be trying to get one for 4x4 of the year testing of something if it does come here.

That is a very interesting looking truck, it's got a little Jeep, Hummer, International Rig and Subaru style to it!

But my inspiration started at the OS then here, I wanted something different, comfortable, non Jeep and 7 pass and could handle moderate off road!

Basically James, Hardtailz, Rodie and AlekG were my inspiration the first Ive seen and had all my friends saying "you want to do what with a TB" then I showed them Pics and Video and they were shocked

I hate to just say , but lets face it, Kyle was the one that talked me into installing Mark's suspension lift on my truck and getting it out off of the speed bumps. Since then it has been entirely trying to be able to keep up with him!

That brute is sweet. I saw a special on TV with one of those with a V8. They had it on a trail with about 2' of snow... the Brute had to be the trail leader through the snow in order to hammer/plow through the snow banks.

Now... back to that H3 I posted originally. I found a build thread for it. One of the best proportioned SAS's I've seen. Plenty of flex, but doesn't look goofy-high. Plus the rest of the work is phenomenal too.

Haven't seen many things that struck a cord for me like this did 2 1/2 years ago.

Guess I still don't have much of a wondering eye.

I wish he could have documented the build a little better. But one of the nicest trail rigs I've seen in awhile. Pretty sure its the only H3 I've ever liked!
