Hi in new here thus the intro. I have a basically stock 2004 4x4 trailblazer. Interested in the west coast chapter, looking to meet people as crazy about their Tb's as I am.

Any mods yet? What are your plans?

No mods as of yet, I have had the truck for over three years and always had plans for it but every shop I went to around here looked at me like I was crazy so I didn't think it was really possible until I stumbled accross this site. I am putting on a set of toyo mud terrains next week and wheel spacers, after that a body/suspension lift. then bumpers or bumpers before lift not sure yet but that's what is to come in the near future more plans further down the road once I rebuild the now cracked nest egg in the bank.

Some free (probably worth that much) advice...

Decide what you want to do with the truck, then make a polan before buying the tires. Sucks to buy tires that fit now then you do the lifts in 3 months and take a loss to sell tires to buy bigger. Lifts for these are cheap compared to most rigs, so you may want to at least do one of them before tires.

that is great advice and I am all for learning from others, however I need tires bad anyways and would not be able to lift the truck and do tires so because my wife and kid ride in this as well tires come first. It will look funky for a bit after the lift before the new tires wear out but im sure I can get them to wear rather quickly when the time comes. Good looking out though I appreciate the advise.

If you're going the spacers route. Check the 265/70/17 and see if it fits unlifted, that's what I'm running with a lift right now, but a few people have reported success of fitting them without a lift. If not. 265/65/17 will fit without a lift and won't look bad with the lift.

Welcome from Ventura County! Looking forward to an eventual West Coast meet! I would say that you should look into the budget MarkMC lift and spacers, putting you back maybe ~$300 before your tires. That way you don't have to buy new tires anytime soon.

Well I hope you find some decent trails not far from you. It seems that someplace within a few hours of Vacaville is where should have a West Cost Meet up.

we do have trails around here they just don't have big names excluding rubicon of course. Alot in the 3 hour time frame from me and a few well worth the time closer it's a local thing. hehehe but yeah if anyone needs help setting up a west thing I am happy to help. I am close to being a vendor for ortb so I am serious about investing time here.

Elavation doesnt make the trails any better. Just the view.

If you absolutely need tires now, and are looking at wanting larger tires soon, check with your local tire shop for a decent set of used tires. I have had great experience with them. It would be an inexpensive fix for the short time.

Or the Treadwright retreads, I think a couple people here are using them with no complaints.
