Trading my f150 for an 03 ltz within the next week or two, wish I would have bought this first, f150 was capable and pulled our roofing trailer great but the mpgs in the single digits unloaded with stock sized tires was a joke. Not looking for much better here after a mild lift and tires and wheels but hey I'll haul more folks when I want to. Like I said haven't even got one yet but this site was definitely a deciding factor. Thanks guys, for the great looking rigs and future questions answered.

Be sure to get the V8 if you're planning to tow, and look for 4.10 gears if you can.

He won't be buying an 03 V8 unless it's an EXT.

Well, maybe he needs to rethink what he's thinking about buying.

Depending on what year F150 he's talking, the I6 probably has more hp/torque anyways.

But otherwise, yeah, I'd still look for a V8 if you have the choice.

Thanks for the replies, I don't pull the trailer everyday just on occasion I work for a dirt late model race team that has a roofing problem, we may pull it twice a week, it only has stuff for repairs and a few ladders, it's only a 6x12 enclosed may weigh 3000lbs fully loaded, raining and two Big Macs in it. We race more than roof, but roofing pays the bills. We only measure and do repairs out of it so no big heavy equipment in it. Anyways the f150 is a 2000 with the 5.4 and 4x4 with 243,000 on the clock so the tb with 88,000 seems easier, to deal with for the long run, especially if we add new addition to the fan the next few years.
