Hey there! I'm Rikk. I just inherited my GF's 2003 TB after we found out both the ECM and ABS Control Unit have s**t the bed due to a malfuntioning after-market alarm system. Near future plans include: New ECM and ABS units, upgrade exhaust, delete resonator, Mark Mc Lift, Crager Steelie 15x7 rims, BF Goodrich AT 31/10.5/15 tires, front brush guard, roof rack and K&N intake

First off, WELCOME! Good job getting a plan together... What brand/style brush guard you thinking? Be wary of the ones that mount underneath the bumper cover as they hinder your approach angle. All depends on your mission though.

If I were you I would do some more reading/research on your chosen rim size.... They may or may not be an issue with the diameter of your brake rotors...

Don't buy things just because of brand recognition. Research the why and best applications.

You could cram a bigger tire in there with no problem, Bacons comment on the brush gaurd is a valid concern. I've slammed the bottom of my bumper pretty hard on multiple occasions, I'd have ripped off a brush gaurd a few times over by now.

You'll find some 15s "can" fit with the proper backspacing, but it's tight.

Read around the board a lil bit and I reckon your plans very well might change a good bit.

Welcome! Lots of Jersey people here, it seems.

I've also had a bad experience with the radiator mounted brushguards. I believe mine was Westin brand, but it had no tags on it. (Craigslist special) You take something inherently weak, and attach a point of leverage to it...

Steel quality is shotty also.

If I were to go back, I'd save the brushguard money and put it towards skids or bumper.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I'm still researching the grill guard and cold intake. My wheel/tire size has gone up to 17's. Since I've started this journey my plans have adjusted, but the overall goal is the same. I want a kick ass lifted truck, used mainly for work, that I can still go out and play in. I am originally from Southern California so I do like the Prerunner/Chase Truck looks. There's a lot to think about. I'll try not to ask too many dumb questions.

Main thing with the brush guard is put it on yourself so it's attached correctly and saves you a few hundred bucks. Then get MDB's radiator and oil skid and he can build the radiator skid to strengthen the brush guard like he did with mine. Works nice when pushing through brush or taking a hit. I personally like my CSI guard, though the way it was "professionally installed" almost cost me my frame. Anyways, food for thought, and welcome! Happy modding!

I think it's just as we get more lifted TBs they get more noticed and it brings more in, didn't we get a bunch of people around the great lakes like a year ago and then several around Georgia. I have got to get lifted and get some more Oregonians on here.

Hey Roadie, you know those guidos on the Jersey Shore" show are all from Rhode Island, Mass, & NY. They do invade our lovely little shore towns every Summer, though. I've been personally doing my best to send them back home one or two at a time with a size 13 shoe in their butts since the mid 80's. We are not fans of the guidos here in "Joisey".
And, I've also lived in So Cal a few times myself, incidentally.
