The bumper is not plate, it is stacked channels, 6" x 2" on bottom centre with two 4" x 2" above. The channels are bolted together top to bottom with the ends and corners welded.

I think what they are saying is you need an official build thread.

The build has begun! A big thanks to AJ (hotness) and my buddy Rob for helping out Friday night and Saterday. I lifted the body but need bolts and brackets to finish (stupid post office). I went with AJ's old stock springs, OEM SS struts, and MarkMC's new 3" front. AJ and I designed a fairly quick and easy way to change the air bag sensor. We are going to try rear spring spacers under the air bags (stupid post office). It's 1am, but it was a good day. I will try to post a teaser pic or two tomorrow.

Ok, so you don't need to borrow my stock lifted struts, right?

It looks like Im going to be ok. I was waiting til I could put it on the ground and check it out before I said something. So far so good. If the post office hadnt lost one of my packages I would be 100% sure. I have this pic so far.

Nice perk! I'm thinking of adding a two post lift to my garage. The prices on them are just right: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bpi-5 ... 7Aod01kAAw
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

That's nicer than the lift at my work. I've been known to use our 7,000lb 2 post lift for our F350 4x4. Not a great idea. The concerns I have about installing a lift into a home garage are ceiling height and concrete epth. You can use steel plate to help out the concrete, but rafters are harder to move. Just some thoughts!

Seriously though, it is looking really bad ass! I can't wait to have a chance to wheel with an SS!

Yeah, I can speak from experience, raising the rafters sucks. my garage had 7ft ceilings when I got it, couldn't even pull a motor in there. Raising them up 2ft helped a lot, but it was a lot of work.

The SS looks pretty alright. Can't wait to see it all together.

I do have my air bags adjusted as low as possible. I'll measure the front after I install the new fenders. Wheeling is the name of the game! :flex dirty:

Maybe I missed it, but why are you deciding to keep the air bags? Especially when you can get a set of Z71 rear springs for pretty cheap!

I already have a pair of Z71's. This is a bit of an experiment. MarkMC and I thought it would be cool to try slipping the standard rear spring lift spacer under the air bag. All I did was make an extension for the sensor. It seems to be working real well although I have really driven it yet.

You're 1 inch shorter than me for the time being.
