Like the rest said for general information GMTN has a lot of the information. I am sure you have noticed minimal activity on Trailvoy. Some of us are still kind of members there for their library as we build up the information on GMTN.

Have decided that i will give my truck a nice mild lift with some 33's and i want ro make a body armor style front/rear bumper. Might throw my old wintch on it from me jeep. I am also making my own rof rack since i refuse to spend 300plus for cheap materialed one.

No preformance just yet since this is my dd for now until either my 68 mustang/ 71 nova or 64 rambler is done.

hehehe, "mild lift with 33's".... 33"s are the highest you can go without a body lift. If your rollin 3.42s, you can watch your fuel gauge drop during acceleration! It's a hoot. I've got 33s and 3.42 gears, in city i average 9-12mpg, highway 16-19mpg. Thats with my new conservative driving style, since i got the scanguage programmed right.

Ya figured that was my limit without any kind of lift involved. I know that sucks the gas right ot like your tank had a whole in it. Both my ford trucks had bigger then 33's on them. I wanted to eventually go different gearing both front and rear. So might help situation out. I am not expecting too much from this.motor or granny set up plus it being stock. I also want to switch over to manual locking 4x4 let see what better weather brings my way since i.work outside in the driveway i figure Ivan only do the simplistic things first.

oh, no. You'll need a lift. Theres no way you'll be fitting 33s under there w/o a suspension lift and spacers.

You can go up to 30.6 without a lift if things work right and no spacers are needed.

Just read the build threads of ChevyCrew and DirtyAnton. They both have the perfect "mild lift". Really convineint for short people, too.

Can I please ask you to use spell check before you post. I can't read what your writting. As stated above, you will need a combination of the two lifts to fit 33's on there, unless you don't mind trimming your fenders a lot. You would also need wheel spacers or a different rim with proper offset. Once the mod bug hits you, you won't be able to stop lol.

hey guys sorry about my spelling on here... i was using my wifes new Kindle Fire... the pad thingy. and well it does auto correction for you if its misspelled it doesnt say anything ... well at least how she had it ... we just got the thing and i was trying it out here... sorry about that i am not illiterate and just for those illiterate moments i do have spell check on my laptop/desktop.. lol


anyway... so no 33... sad. i like the look of big tires under a truck. i will read up on those builds tonight. and yes i know about the "mod bug" its attached to me for life... seems like every car/truck i get... i cannot keep it stock -__- my wife calls it my handicap.

i really didnt want to get into the fenders and trimming them... so i could go the 30" for now make it look beefier. and then make my body armor style front and rear bumpers.. but i need a welder... some idiot stole mine from my backyard... cant wait until i find the f*%ker...

No worries about the spelling lol. I have my moments... If you need any help shoot me a PM. And welcome to the forum. My wife hates that I have the mod bug. I can't stop lol. That sucks about your welder! For the price of a new welder I'm sure you could just buy a bad ass bumper from Mike. He is one of our vendors that makes custom bush bumpers for our platform. Check him out. Also if your going to lift...use markmc. He is our lift guy. He also does the wheel spacers.

What he said. Fern, not trying to pile on you, but I figure the earlier we say it the better. Not only spelling... you'll find that we really try to get on people for not using proper grammar and caps. Sure, it sounds like we're a bunch of a-holes (so my wife says), but there is logic behind it. Try reading one of your posts, then try reading Mudwheelin's post. The proper punctuation and caps REALLY helps to improve post comprehension. This matters especially when dealing with technical terms and discussions.

If you look at my build thread (link in my sig) Youll see what is needed for 33's. I added the lift as well as beefier springs + of course Wheel spacers/adapters, then still had to cut the front fender wells some. Not ALOT but some.
