SS lift anyone???

New members: please introduce yourself here.

by JorDaneeKey » Sun Jun 02, 2013 11:30 am

Even with our axle kicked back a bit with the new massive control arms we still got some rubbing on TECORE on the back bumper. *sigh* At some point the TB will be focused on again for armor upgrades. Until then, the newest member of the family gets all the mods and attention. Lol

This truck is an animal. Quite impressive!
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

Thought I burned thru money on vehicles, you got me beat. Although I did start spending money on another car. I gotta get back to finishing the TB before the next TECORE.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

I saved money for a while. I was saving and planning at the same time. I didn't want to do the body lift this year... The suspension next year... I wanted to keep it basically stock until I had both a plan, and some funds. I have a few weeks worth of work still to do just finishing what I have started.

Lookin' good!

That hoop should have had ~3" or so on each end to cut off for it to be the right height? I assume you tacked it up on the vehicle, before you welded it on? If you didn't, and you end up thinking it's too high, you can just cut it off, grind the bumper smooth, and put it where you want it. This is obviously best done before the shorter, smaller pieces of tube are welded onto the back side.

BTW, you'll want to go over that with a flap disc when you're done, or your grinder marks on the seams will show up.

I flap disc most of it. But I was tired and had other things to do so I primed it up and I'll wait on the lights to come in before I mess with it again. I still have to put the gussets in for the stinger, mounts in for the lights, and some more grinding/finishing. Overall, I'm pretty darn happy.

Ugh, so jealous. I need to find an SS and lift it.....after all, hubby can't have the only V8 in the family. It's just not fair. ;)

Except for the stinger, I am a fan. I'd love to tear up a dirt road sideways in that thing.
