As a general note, these trucks do handle and drive much better once lifted. At least, that's the general consensus around here. The front end firms up a lot, and you actually lose some of the body roll that is inherent in stock TBs.

Welcome to the site. I'm glad you've done more research. I built my truck based on information I learned on this site!

Well as soon as I have the spare change I am going to install a 2" suspension lift from BDS. After that I will swap out the wheels and tires for something else. Then comes the 3" Liftmeister body lift. After that I will do the other changes I mentioned. I've got some ideas to do some internal mods as well and those will come sporadically when I can't afford any of the external mods I want to do.

@MikeKey - my commute is apx 75miles round trip right now. I interviewed for an Assistant GM position at a Pizza Hut about 8-9 miles from my house in the past week and it sounds like they are going to extend a job offer. If that goes smoothly I will be sitting a lot better.

@ErikSS - How do you like the 3" Liftmeister suspension lift?

I'm up to about 50 miles a day to work, I was doing more than that for a couple years. That was on 32s and 3:42 gears, you shouldn't have any trouble with the drive.

I do. Before the wife stole the GXP from me. She used to drive it 22 miles to work in Tampa. Yeah 10mpg was common, lol. When it gets cooler I'll ride my bicycle to work and bet everyone for MPG.

 FNG, hope you get the new job. I alway look at a long commute as decreasing my income in gas paid.

I really like the my lift kits. Both of them. If you're going to do the MDB bumper and skids, I strongly advise you to get stiffer front springs. There are plenty of threads on here about spring rates. I have stock springs with MDB bumper, Radiator skid, and oil skid. Plus I have a removable winch now. (finished about an hour ago) lol The front has drooped badly. I want Radflo front suspension, but I have to save some pennies first!

Yea I was thinking of putting a set of Tahoe Springs all the way around before I add a bunch of weight. I probably won't swap out the bumper until next summer, though. Thanks for the input.

That's kind if the way I look at it. I was looking for something closer to home that kept me in a position of control and had accepted that I would take a pay cut because the minimum wage (and thus every thing else) is significantly higher in Washington.
