Has anyone ever towed over 5800 pounds with there truck? Lifted or not!

I've towed ~6500# with mine (including cargo and passengers, as per the rating in the manual), but I have the V8, and I haven't towed that much since I was running stock size tires and very little lift.

When I needed a rescue from Colorado, a member from Vegas brought a car hauler trailer up to get me. We were ultra cautious and nervous the whole way, especially through mountains, because we must have been over 7000 pounds. Not for normal use at all. If you have any incident while towing over the printed rating, expect the lawyers to have a field day and for your insurance try to get out of paying.

Its a camper. And idk im really going to pull it i was just wondering.

I pulled a trailer that has a claimed curb weight of 2,200lbs with 2 skids in it. Each skid had an estimated 3,000lbs on it. So, 7,200lbs. I kept my speed down, increased travel distances, and did not have to travel long distances. I was using my bone stock SS. While it pulled it surprisingly well, I would never buy a camper that was anywhere close to that heavy.

I towed a 5200# with mine, with 3.42 gear and stock tires. It wasn't a real drag, just slow and at the limit. 4200# with 32" tires is the limit now.
