Trailblazer front differential won't come off

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

This morning I called the salvage yard to see when I could pick up a replacement front differential for my gear project. They informed me that it won't brake loose from the oil pan. They've tried for a couple days and it won't budge.

They pulled the engine from the donor, removed the right side disconnect, unbolted the differential and nothing. They tell me it will rotate but won't clear the oil pan and they don't want to damage anything. This is not the first differential they have removed from a TB or EY. This is a salvage yard that does a quick turn over so they don't waste time. I'm going to stop by there Thursday morning and see if i can get it off.

Any ideas and should I take any special tools with me. Again the engine is out of the TB, the front disco is off, the axle is in the oil pan but the front diff won't come off.

did they get the intermediate shaft out?
I've been doing a good bit of reading getting ready for my own diff swap. The posts say you can use a bolt from the PCM to thread in the intermediate shaft to help remove it.

That is the first thing i though about as well, but if the spline disconnect is removed the shaft should come out with the diff.

Could be frozen up in there like some people's disco's do. May just need to be worked around a few times.
