Spider gears gone, time for a locker?

Something not working right?

Cool, yea its an easy swap for the most part. And might as well go aftermarket with the locker if possible. But are you 4x4? If so, you will need to change the front gears as well...

Yeah i have a 4x4, so a little more difficult to change i suppose. I dont remember reading this before but did you switch out your gears when you did your axle swap?

Nope, no gear change, not confident with that myself. So just did the easy axle swap and kept the 3.42's that match my front. Would have liked to go to 4.56's tho..

I saw that thread actually but no one really talks about the front gear swap(atleast I havent seen it) like they do the rear, unless I missed it? So I was just curious.

Yes, both AlexG and Fishsticks have swapped the front to 4.56 gears.

The removal process for the front diff is in my swap thread. If you need help with the actual gear install I can answer questions to the best of my ability. Gear swaps are something you need to be familiar with before attempting yourself. I did tons of reading before I even bought parts for my rear swap.

Alright thank you i would appreciate that. I dont know anything at all about a swap, but i do know a couple mechanics that could probably help me. I rather not even dare to attempt something like that by myself. :D

Teebes as well. Had problems, though. I think he's currently leaking out of the front diff.

I have a slow leak from my pinion seal as well. I used the Yukon install kit. VERY unimpressed with the quality for the price.

So what kit would you recommend? Mines leaking out from the front pinion seal, and going to be fixing it when I get to El Paso, but thinking about doing alot when I get there to both axles if I can swing it.

I had good luck with the Motive kit on my rear axle...

Optimum gear might be an option also. I've heard good things about them.
