Anyone who'se gone to the steel bumpers have their old brush guard laying around?

We REALLY like the Waag center guard so if anyone has one they no onger use i'd love to hear what you want for it.

Or possibly a westin that has removeable headlight guards.

The "new" price of either of those is just out of the question right now (with getting struts, shocks, spacers, marks 3", a roof rack and 5 new tires as you may have seen my other thread) but I think that would just make all of the other add-ons look "complete" for now ya know? And i'm not keen on the idea of getting a brush guard off ebay as others have suggested... You never know if it's a nicely made piece or just a hunk of crap.

Thanks in advance anyone!

Good luck with the WAAG, I have been searching for one for years!! Most people that have the, hold on to them til the truck dies, or they wreck (which usually takes out the front guard).

If you find one close to me (NY) let me know!!!

Try these folks...

This is the company/brand I had sent to Mike to have mounted on our bumper when we had him build one.

Not quite as thick as the Waag he said, but still a decent quality.

But would you trust it without being welded to one of Mike's bumpers?

I only ask because i've heard some not so good reviews about Hunter guards. I did contact them directly as well to ask if the headlight guards could be fully removed, which they can they said.

Yes, the headlight guards are bolt on units.

I wouldn't have mounted it had I not had it put on one of Mikes bumpers. I didn't wanna lose the ground clearance. Having no choice, I suppose I would mount it though.

I lived in a heavily deer and antelope populated area. In the six years I worked in Wyoming, I hit 12 deer and an antelope with the company truck. My brother hit an anteplope with our TB before we had Mikes bumper in place. The protection would have been worth it at that time however.

Of course, once everything was put on, we never hit an animal with the TB...

See I'm not up to par on what your guys' ratings are yet, but from some of the pictures and videos I've seen, I can definitely say we won't be coming anywhere near off roading that serious for quite some time. So I it help appearance wise and had a little bit of protection, I can handle the ground clearance issue. When the time comes to build a bumper we'll do something like you did (as long as you don't mind) haha.

Here's some threads that should help bring you up to par, on the ratings. I think this is what you were talking about. Hope it helps.

Nope, I don't mind, but I also don't recommend it anymore as Mike can build stronger tubes when he puts a bumper together for you. But if you prefer the look, I say go with it. I do like how ours turned out.

Where are you located? I have a brush guard, it's not a Waag and I'm not really sure of the brand but if you close I'll sell it to you.

I recall them saying they will be moving to Colorado. Don't recall where from though.

That's a little too far away. Good luck finding one though.
