FWIW the tb does uhh.. ok with my xj, guessing to be about 3500# plus a 1700# trailer

It's mostly stereo/auxiliary light stuff. There's also an alarm in it which I am taking out. I looked at the truck at night due to the guy's schedule. He only had the truck for a month and his girl (short) hated getting into it... so I don't blame him. Previous owner to him is responsible for this stuff.

I thought I covered all the bases with a flashlight but you always miss something. It's got a 6 month old motor in it at least... I have the receipt for it on my desk.

First things, first: Maintenance, so I have a baseline. Already found/fix an issue with the drivers window regulator. Also hooked the e-brake back up.

A little update:

Finally pulled the passenger side axle yesterday and with it came bits of my AWD sleeve. None were bigger than a nickel. I can stick my finger into the housing and touch the intermediate shaft (which is smooth around the edges now) and not encounter any remnants of my AWD sleeve.

Amazingly, all 3 of my bearings still rotate smoothly, and the CV axle is unhurt.

Got some salvage guts coming from Mario's busted disconnect. A little MIG love and I'll be back to 4WD...

I'm not sure we should use roadie abuse years either... Before a few months ago I'd never seen a wheel bearing so bad the wheel wobbled obviously.

Well my AWD sleeve only has about 20-30 miles of trail on it... but its workin thus far.

Well Fish ya gotta do what ya gotta do I wish you luck with that Yota looks sweet. I got a small taste of what you endure on a regular. I'm usually a nut while wheeling and I paid a small price. My disconnect was all mangled inside bearings seals all at 64,000 and I always stop first before putting it into 4wd ,cv shaft boot keeps ripping I think this is number four now. I have had Jeeps and Toyota's all with lift kits and 33 or 34's that I beat the piss out of and didn't have nearly as many issues. Obviously this is what we get for taking,what is said to be one of the two worst trucks to take off road the first being a Ford Expedition, off road. Which is why I have learned to baby the truck to avoid wasting time fixing something else on the weekend when I could be doing something else. Even changing from IFS to SAS either way the truck was not designed for hardcore off roading. I know know its not so much the ability of the truck its the person behind the wheel. If it weren't for you guys this truck would have cost me more than it's worth.That being said don't get the wrong idea I love my truck and this website. LOL I know it probably doesn't sound like it but I do.
