I know stock Jeeps are just as weak with 35s tossed under them. Any vehicle takes some mods to sling big tires and this platform is no exception. Jeep stock parts may last a bit longer due to 1/3 less HP, but still fail as often as our parts. I wrench on them all time. However, they do have ability to build in a ton more flex cheaply which makes me a bit jealous at times.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

I'm fairly sure 33s and 4.56s with lockers will be the sweet spot for our trucks.

We'll find out shortly.

:hmm: Depends on what you consider "sweet spot".

Not sure I would ever go back down to 33s...

Would take 4.56s in a heartbeat, but saw the failure of being locked up in the front in off chamber spots in the snow at Badlands last trip. Noob with Rubicon had both lockers on(cause the snow meant you had to lock???) and kept sliding off the side of trails til someone figured out he was fully locked and had him turn them off. Much of sliding stopped. While I can definitely see front locker advantage and somewhat regret not inserting one, I can see where not being selectable could cause issues on and offroad in the snow or even mud off-chamber or cornering. I think the front locker is definitely a case by case thing depending on use and intentions.

My dream would be to throw a locker in the front and then devise a circuit to manually engage/ disengage the front disconnect. This would allow you to have the fully locked 4x4 when you want it, and be able to turn it into a somewhat normal 3x4 in the odd situations that you described Kyle.

Nearly impossible with an AWD sleeve and from what ive read without the awd sleeve youll probably continuously blow up the 4 wheel disconnect.

For clarification, it would seem many would like to use a locker, with 35s it's pretty well known there's relatively high chance of breakage, 33s may very well increase the durability of a locked front on these trucks. Which would make it a sweet spot for a locked front. Of course this is an educated guess, nobody really knows.

I'm sure we could make a fair argument for an auto locker being a hindrance in some situations just as easily as we could praise the benefits in other situations. Much like we could debate the pros and cons of an open front on 35s or a locked front on 33s.

It may just all turn out to be another gray area that comes down to what the driver prefers as the compromise in their personal vehicle and the terrain they most commonly run across.

Hopefully TECORE brings us some info.

A disconnect that can be engaged / disengaged kind of implies that an AWD sleeve wouldn't be used since this is not possible with it. Like other things, everything in moderation. 35's and a lead foot will destroy any disconnect locked or open (differential). 33's, locked with a selectable disconnect would seem like a nice sweet spot for me.
