I expect he is on the road, any idea what rims those are and where they came from?

Is he going to need more trimming in the rear?

No idea about the wheels...

The rear should be fine...

Cragar soft 8s. One came with a hole in it and had to be welded to hold air.

He could get away with 4.10s without any trouble... Might be easier if he's going to just swap in some new diffs.

If he's going to do gears there's no reason not to do 4.56's. I would in an EXT. His MPG will still probably improve over those 3.42s.

I thought they looked like the soft 8's. I guess he is running spacers, from looking at the center of the hub it didn't look like he had spacers. The soft 8's don't come in our pattern do they?

6x5.5 with adaptors.

ETA: Just talked to him, and his tran temps are down in the 180-195 range, depending on terrain, in 3rd...

thanks MIke, I looked back at the pics again and noticed the depth of the hub where the adapters are spacing it out.

I was thinking if you could get D windows or soft 8's with our bolt pattern you can get 5 rims for under $300!

Quick question, when your trans was overheating, what was your water temp? I find mine tend to correlate together pretty well once it all heats up. If you were running 255 in the trans, I'd imagine you were running hot in the coolant too. Keep an eye on it.

Truck is looking good!

Mike, nice work with the carrier. I'm tempted to update mine to a design like this as well. Teebes has this same setup. Only thing... doesn't seem like the carrier has much downward movement. Looks like loading anything back there would be difficult. I know it is with my design and I've got mine set to angle pretty far down.

The truck is looking great Mike. Sorry I couldn't make it down there, but I just couldn't come up with the funds. That's the penalty of being self employed, sometimes I can go weeks without seeing a dollar come into the post office. I feel bad that I wasn't able to be there, but glad that Kyle and Mike were able to get you squared away!

Temp gauge was right in the middle, on the 210 mark, he said... Trans temp was only excessive after long periods of unlocked torque converter.

It does come off it needed, but we thought it more important that the tire be "pushed" instead of "lifted" back into place (especially with a 35" MT on heavy-ass steel wheel!), rather than for loading plywood or something... Also, the shelf for loading things on the EXT is migh higher, so it's not really a problem at all... It it becomes one for loading something big sometime, it's only 1 bolt from being completely taken off...
